What Is Tranexamic Acid?

Tranexamic Acid is a dental solution that prevents complications by stopping blood clots from rapidly breaking down, resulting in unwanted bleeding and other complications. Tranexamic acid comes in 4.8% oral solution and is used as a mouth rinse or topical agent. As a preoperative medication, it is typically available in pill form. Tranexamic Acid is also an intraoperative irrigant and may also be administered as an intravenous hemostatic agent during a dental surgical procedure.

What Is Tranexamic Acid For?

Tranexamic Acid (TXA) is a fibrinolytic compound that is typically used in treating patients with known bleeding disorders.
